Alex Warren

Principal Engineer - Critical Risk

I’m Alex Warren, founder of Critical Risk Group.

With extensive experience across operational and regulatory roles, I help mine operators strengthen their approach to risk and compliance. Before founding Critical Risk Group, I held senior positions with the NSW Resources Regulator, leading WHS investigations, developing statewide assessment programs, and advancing standards for statutory competency.

Today, I bring that insight to support mining operations Australia-wide, combining regulatory understanding with practical, systems-based solutions that work on site.

Clients we work with

I work primarily with underground and surface coal operations across Australia, with selected engagements in metals and quarrying sectors where my expertise adds value.

My focus is strengthening critical control frameworks and building compliance systems that are practical, sustainable, and aligned with best-practice operational and governance standards.

This approach applies across complex, high-risk environments where disciplined critical control management underpins safe and consistent performance.

Trusted by operators and safety leaders across Australia’s mining sector.
